56-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Vehicle in Watsonville

 
WATSONVILLE (November 27, 2023) – Josue Gilberto Chavez-Mora was killed in a pedestrian accident in Watsonville Friday evening on November 24.
 
The fatal accident happened just before 7:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Main street near Green Valley Road. According to the Watsonville Police Department, Chavez-Mora was walking in the area when a vehicle struck him.
 
The impact caused Chavez-Mora fatal injuries and he died at the scene. He was 56 years old, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office.
 
The male driver of the involved vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with authoritie.
 
Police did not indicate if there were arrests made at this time. An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
