Joshua Hatfield Dies, Tracy Slocum, Latray Magano Charged in Hit-and-Run Scooter Crash on Willow Avenue near Shaw Avenue

 
CLOVIS, CA (October 19, 2023) — Joshua Hatfield died in a hit-and-run scooter accident on Willow Avenue at Shaw Avenue.
 
According to Clovis Police officers, the deadly hit-and-run happened just before 12:33 a.m. Wednesday. For an unknown reason, 35-year-old Tracy Slocum left the scene after hitting 25-year-old Joshua Hatfield on his motorized scooter. Subsequently, an officer on patrol noticed a person in the roadway next to a motorized scooter and contacted EMS and other officers to investigate.
 
Upon being transported to the hospital, Hatfield passed away from his injuries.
 
Not long after, officers attempted to contact the driver of an SUV pulled over on Willow Avenue. However, another man, identified as 35-year-old Latray Magano entered the vehicle and sped away. However, officers pulled over the car and arrested him.
 
According to an investigation, Slocum was the initial driver and struck Hatfield while driving through a green traffic light. Now, he remains incarcerated at Fresno County Jail for felony hit and run and Magano faces charges for obstructing an investigation.
