Motorcyclist Dies after Colliding with Pickup Truck in Lucerne Valley

 
LUCERNE VALLEY, CA (September 20, 2023) – Joseph Dalee McCool was killed in a motorcycle accident in Lucerne Valley Saturday afternoon on September 16.
 
The fatal accident happened around 3:45 p.m. on Highway 247 at Santa Fe Fire Road. According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, a white pickup truck pulling a trailer was turning left onto Santa Fe Road. At the same time, McCool was riding his motorcycle and was passing the pickup truck.
 
The motorcycle and the pickup truck collided, ejecting McCool onto the roadway.
 
Despite life-saving measures, McCool was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 37 years old from Yucca Valley, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner’s Division.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
