Jose Valencia Dies in Car Accident on 5 Freeway near Highway 14

 
NEWHALL, CA (February 19, 2024) — Jose Valencia died in a car crash on the 5 Freeway near Highway 14.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly solo-car crash happened around 2:05 a.m. Sunday. For unknown reasons, at least one car crashed into the center divider while heading northbound on the 5 Freeway. Some reports indicated that the crash involved a pickup truck and a van, but investigators have yet to verify the details.
 
Soon after, Los Angeles City Fire Department officials arrived and pronounced 41-year-old Jose Magana Valencia deceased at the scene.
 
Due to the accident, CHP officers closed the No. 1, 2 and 3 lanes for five hours to investigate and clean the area. Information about what led to the crash was unavailable.
