Bicyclist Dies after Struck by Car on 215 Freeway near 210 Freeway

 
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (January 5, 2023) – Jose Gonzalez-Saldana was killed in a bicycle accident on 215 Freeway in San Bernardino early Thursday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 1:21 a.m. on December 29, at the 210 Freeway transition road. According to the California Highway Patrol, Gonzalez-Saldana was riding his bicycle when a Nissan Maxima struck him.
 
As a result, Gonzalez-Saldana suffered significant injuries. First responders tried saving him, but he died at the scene. He was a 39-year-old San Bernardino resident.
 
The driver of the Nissan remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
The cause of the crash and factors involved are still under investigation.
