Multi-Vehicle Accident Involving MTS Bus on 54th Street in San Diego Injures Two People
SAN DIEGO, CA (January 5, 2023) – Two people were injured in a multi-vehicle accident involving an MTS bus on 54th Street in San Diego on Sunday morning.
The accident happened shortly after 8:30 a.m. on January 1. According to the San Diego Police Department, a 29-year-old woman was driving her 2009 Nissan Versa southbound on 54th Street, approaching the intersection with College Grove Drive. At the same time, a 55-year-old female was driving a 2012 Toyota Highlander eastbound through the intersection.
Police said the Nissan failed to stop at the red light and struck the Toyota, which then struck an MTS bus that was stopped at the light.
As a result, both female drivers were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Meanwhile, the bus driver was not injured. There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the crash.
