Motorcyclist Dies after Crashing into Pickup Truck and Tree on Highway 76 in Pauma Valley

 
PAUMA VALLEY, CA (July 5, 2023) – Jorge Villa was killed in a motorcycle accident on Highway 76 in Pauma Valley Sunday night on July 2.
 
The fatal accident happened around 6:29 p.m. near the La Jolla Indian Reservation. According the California Highway Patrol, Villa was riding his Yamaha Tenere 700 motorcycle westbound when he attempted to pass a Toyota pickup truck. He then rear-ended the pickup, causing his motorcycle to lose control and strike a tree.
 
Villa was ejected from his motorcycle and died at the scene. He was a 33-year-old Temecula resident, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
An investigation into this crash is underway. CHP asked anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact their Oceanside Area office at 760-643-3400.
