Jonathan Langarcia and Daniel Majano Killed in Car Accident on 105 Freeway [Athens, CA]

Car Racing with Another Vehicle Crashes into Tree in Athens Killing Two Men Inside

 
ATHENS, CA (February 5, 2024) – Jonathan Pena Langarcia and Daniel Alberto Majano were killed in a car accident near the incorporated Athens area early Friday morning on February 2.
 
The fatal accident happened around 2:26 a.m. on 105 Freeway at Normandie Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle was racing eastbound on the freeway when it crashed into a tree. The impact caused the vehicle to split in two.
 
First responders found the two men inside the vehicle. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
 
Langarcia was 20 years old, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. Majano was from Los Angeles, but his age was unknown.
 
Witnesses said a white sedan had been racing with the victims prior to the crash. It then drove away down the freeway without stopping.

An investigation into this crash is ongoing.
