Early Morning Fiery Crash in Altadena Kills Man and Woman

 
ALTADENA, CA (March 5, 2024) – John Ross and Emalie Ortiz were killed in a fiery accident in Altadena early Tuesday morning on March 5.
 
The fatal accident happened around 1:03 a.m. on West Loma Alta Drive at Loma View Drive. According to the CHP, an Audi was traveling in the area when it crashed into the back of a parked SUV. It then overturned and burst into flames.
 
Ross and Ortiz were trapped in the burning car. Both died at the scene. Ross was a 29-year-old Altadena resident and Ortiz was 23 years old of Alhambra, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
 
Speed was likely a factor in the crash, which is under investigation.
