John Diaz Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Slater Avenue [Huntington Beach, CA]

49-Year-Old Man Dies after Hit by Pickup Truck on Slater Avenue near Keelson Lane

 
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (January 2, 2023) – John Diaz was killed in a pedestrian accident in Huntington Beach Friday night on December 30.
 
The fatal accident happened around 6:50 p.m. on Slater Avenue, just west of Keelson Lane. According to the Huntington Beach Police Department, Diaz was walking outside a crosswalk when an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado struck him.
 
As a result, Diaz suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was 49 years old from Huntington Beach.
 
The 22-year-old man driving the truck stayed on scene and cooperated with officers. Impairment did not appear to be a factor for the driver.
