VENTURA COUNTY, CA (February 15, 2022) — Jeff Sczechowski was injured in a hit-and-run bicycle accident on Highway 1 near Sycamore Canyon Road on Saturday.
 
According to reports, the hit-and-run happened around 11:10 a.m. near the Sycamore Canyon State Park entrance. Under unclear circumstances, a driver struck 58-year-old Sczechowski as he was peddling on his black mountain bike on the shoulder of Highway 1 North.
 
Due to the impact, Sczechowski was thrown into a parked vehicle and suffered severe injuries to his arms, legs and back. Soon after, paramedics brought him to Ventura County Medical Center where he remains in recovery.
