Janely Bautista Charged in Deadly DUI Head-On Crash on Gopher Canyon Road near Hoxie Ranch Road

 
BONSALL, CA (March 22, 2024) — Janely Bautista faces DUI charges following Sunday’s fatal head-on accident on Gopher Canyon Road near Hoxie Ranch Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly crash happened around 11:30 p.m. Sunday. For DUI-related reasons, 29-year-old Janely Magali Bautista lost control of her eastbound Chevrolet Silverado on Gopher Canyon Road. Subsequently, her truck slammed into an oncoming Toyota Camry.
 
Minutes later, emergency personnel arrived and took the severely injured 51-year-old Vista woman driving the Toyota and her 53-year-old male passenger to a nearby trauma center. Tragically, the man passed away from his injuries. Officials have withheld his name pending family notification.
 
Following the accident, police booked Bautista into Las Colinas Women’s Jail in Santee on suspicion of DUI, gross vehicular manslaughter and murder. She also suffered minor injuries in the accident.
