64-Year-Old Woman Dies after Crash with Hit-and-Run Driver in Perris

 
PERRIS, CA (October 26, 2023) – Jamie Beman was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Perris Saturday night on October 21.
 
The fatal crash happened around 6:44 p.m. at Evans Road and Whispering Wood Lane, directly across from the campus of Mary Ranch Elementary School. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the driver of a 2020 Honda Fit was preparing to make a southbound turn onto Evans from westbound Whispering Wood after coming to a stop at the three-way intersection.
 
As the Honda proceeded to make the turn, a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder traveling northbound on Evans failed to stop at the stop sign and crashed into the driver’s side of the Honda.
 
Authorities identified Beman as the driver of th Honda. She died at the scene. She was a 64-year-old Nuevo resident.
 
The driver of the Nissan fled the scene on foot before deputies arrived.
 
At this time, the hit-and-run suspect remains at large.
