36-Year-Old Sonora Man Dies after Struck by Car on Highway 108 in Jamestown
Jamestown, CA (March 1, 2022) – James Jensen was killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 108 in Jamestown on Friday night.
The fatal accident happened around 6:40 p.m. on February 25, near Main Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 36-year-old victim from Sonora was walking along the shoulder of the highway when a pickup truck struck him.
Arriving units rushed Jensen to Adventist Health Sonora, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the pickup, 65-year-old Robert Campbell of Modesto, was unharmed. He told officers he tried to avoid the man, but unsuccessful.
Officers said alcohol and drugs were not contributing factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
