Coroner Identifies Maria Mejia as Fatal Victim of Broadside Crash in Moreno Valley

 
MORENO VALLEY, CA (March 1, 2022) – Maria Mejia was killed in a broadside accident in Moreno Valley on Sunday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 4:50 p.m. on February 27 at Indian Street and Delphinium Avenue. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, a black Dodge Ram truck was traveling north on Indian Street.
 
At the same time, Mejia was driving a gold Toyota Solana west on Delphinium Avenue. As both vehicles entered the intersection, the front of the Dodge collided into the driver’s side of the Toyota.
 
As a result, Mejia suffered severe injuries. She later died at the hospital. She was a 58-year-old Moreno Valley resident, according to the coroner’s office.
 
The driver of the Dodge remained on scene.
 
The fatal crash is under investigation, but alcohol appeared to be a factor.
