Head-On Crash on Highway 99 in Los Molinos Kills 2 Drivers and Seriously Injures Passenger

 
LOS MOLINOS, CA (June 12, 2023) – James Hartley and Celeste Young were killed in a head-on accident in Los Molinos Saturday afternoon on June 10.
 
The fatal accident happened around 2:55 p.m. on Highway 99, just south of Champlin Slough. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Ford Ranger entered oncoming traffic and collided head-on into a BMW 428i.
 
Hartley, 54, was the driver of the Ford. Young, 67, was the driver of the BMW. Both suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. The two were Los Molinos residents.
 
A passenger of the BMW was taken to Enloe Medical Center with major injuries.
 
CHP Red Bluff is handling the investigation. They said alcohol was not a factor is the crash.
