Ivonne Vivas Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Reina Road [Bakersfield, CA]

48-Year-Old Woman Dies after Struck by Vehicle on Reina Road near Old Farm Road

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 9, 2021) – Ivonne Lizbeth Vivas was killed in a pedestrian accident in Bakersfield Wednesday morning.
 
The accident happened around 7:08 a.m. on September 8, in the 11600 block of Reina Road, just west of Old Farm Road and south of Olive Drive. According to Bakersfield police, the 48-year-old Bakersfield woman was walking in northwest direction when a vehicle struck her.
 
The impact caused Vivas fatal injuries and she died at the scene. Two other pedestrians were knocked to the ground but both escaped injury.
 
Meanwhile, the 17-year-old female driver remained on scene and cooperated with police.
 
Police said drugs and alcohol did not play a role in the crash. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Bakersfield Police Department at 661-327-7111.
