Fatal Motorcycle Accident at Lafayette and Harrison Streets

 
SANTA CLARA, CA (September 9, 2021) – A man died in a motorcycle accident at Lafayette Street and Harrison Street in Santa Clara.
 
The accident happened around 3:25 p.m. on Tuesday last week, August 31. According to the Santa Clara Police Department, the 22-year-old man was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Harrison when he collided with a car traveling southbound on Lafayette.
 
The impact caused the rider major injuries. Responding paramedics rushed him to a hospital, where he later died.
 
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release the man’s identify once it has been confirmed and his next of kin is notified.
 
The driver, a 69-year-old, remained on scene and cooperated with police.
 
Alcohol and drugs were not suspected factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
