Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Stine Road in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 9, 2021) – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash at Stine Road and Ming Avenue in Southwest Bakersfield late Tuesday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened just after 10:30 p.m. on September 7. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, an adult female pedestrian was walking at the intersection when an SUV struck her.
 
After the crash, the driver of the SUV fled eastbound on Ming Avenue.
 
First responders found the woman lying in the roadway with major injuries. They rushed her to a local hospital, where the victim later died.
 
The Kern County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity once family members are properly notified.
 
At this time, the hit-and-run suspect in a red or orange 2020 Toyota C-HR SUV remains at large.
