Isis Jones Killed in Hit-and-Run on Florin Road [Sacramento, CA]

16-Year-Old Girl Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver at Florin Road and Fawn Way

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (July 12, 2021) – Isis Jones died in a hit-and-run crash late Thursday evening in Sacramento.
 
The crash happened just before 10:30 p.m. on July 8, at the intersection of Florin Road and Fawn Way. According to the CHP, the 16-year-old victim first stepped in front of a car in the first eastbound lane, but that driver was able to stop in time. However, a second vehicle struck her when she tried to cross the second lane.
 
The impact of the collision threw Jones onto the roadway, leaving her with life-threatening injuries.
 
Arriving units attempted saving Jones, but she died at the scene, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
 
The CHP said the second driver who hit Jones took off before officers arrived. The suspect’s car is believed to be a grey, 2002-2004 Mercedes C Class.
 
Officials asked anyone with information on the hit-and-run to contact the South Sacramento area CHP.
