Harbor City Hit-and-Run Kills 4-Year-Old Jayda Sanchez, Father and Brother in Critical Condition

 
HARBOR CITY, CA (July 14, 2021) – A 4-year-old girl died in a tragic hit-and-run on Normandie Avenue in Harbor City on July 9.
 
Around 8:20 p.m., 27-year-old Robert Sanchez was driving on the 2600 block of Normandie Avenue with his 4-year-old daughter, Jayda Sanchez, and 5-year-old son Robbie when another driver made an illegal U-turn near the intersection with Vermont Avenue
 
Sanchez swerved to avoid colliding with the other vehicle, and the sudden movement caused his pickup truck to flip and slam into a light pole, authorities said.
 
Jayda Sanchez was killed instantly.
 
Her brother and father were hospitalized with serious injuries.
 
A Los Angeles Police Department spokesman said the driver of the other vehicle is still at large. However, a description of the fleeing vehicle was not immediately available.
 
The children’s mother, Adriana Sanchez, is urging the driver to come forward. The family is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the driver in a deadly hit-and-run crash that claimed her life.
 
In addition, The Sanchez family has created a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.
 
An investigation is ongoing.
