Hit-and-Run Driver Detained Following Police Pursuit on Soledad Canyon Road On-Ramp in Santa Clarita

 
SANTA CLARITA, CA (November 14, 2022) — A hit-and-run driver was arrested following a police chase on the Soledad Canyon Road on-ramp at the 14 Freeway.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident first began around 3:53 p.m. Police wanted to pull over a man in connection with a hit-and-run crash Saturday.
 
The unidentified suspect fled in a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, then got out and tried to run. However, the suspect returned to the car and drove away. Leading officers on a brief pursuit, the suspect finally stopped the car on the Soledad Canyon Road on-ramp to the 14 Freeway.
 
An aerial shot broadcasted on the news showed a CHP vehicle touching the rear of a white pickup truck. As the suspect refused to get out of the car, another CHP officer responded to the scene around 5:29 p.m. Following less-lethal rounds and a K-9 Officer, the standoff ended 45 minutes later and the suspect with dog bite wounds.
 
According to reports, the prior hit-and-run accident happened in the 7600 block of Soledad Canyon Road but fortunately, no injuries were reported.
