Police Arrest Lynn Nguyen for Hit-and-Run after Crash in San Jose that Killed Hillary Lopez

 
SAN JOSE, CA (December 20, 2021) – Hillary Lopez died in a hit-and-run crash in San Jose on Thursday afternoon.
 
The fatal crash happened around 3:24 p.m. in the area of Senter Road and Wool Creek Drive. According to police, 71-year-old Lynn Nguyen was driving a 2005 BMW 530i northbound on Senter Road when she crashed into a 2016 Toyota Prius, driven by Lopez.
 
As a result, Lopez suffered significant injuries and died at the hospital. She was 35 years old, according to the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office.
 
Nguyen had non-life-threatening injuries. She was previously involved in a hit-and-run that resulted in a non-life-threatening injury. Police said they suspect she fled from the scene of the first collision when the second one happened.
 
Police later arrested Nguyen and booked her into Santa Clara County Main Jail on vehicular manslaughter and two counts of felony hit-and-run.
 
Further investigation is underway.
