Hector Reyes Hit and Killed by Van on Avenue I [Lancaster, CA]

28-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Van on Avenue I at 80th Street East

 
LANCASTER, CA (November 29, 2022) – Hector Reyes was hit and killed by a van in Lancaster Sunday morning on November 27.
 
The fatal crash happened around 5:45 a.m. on Avenue I, just east of 80th Street East. According to the CHP, a 1994 Ford Econoline van that was heading eastbound on Avenue I struck Reyes who was walking at the intersection.
 
Reyes suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was 28 years old from Colton, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
 
The motorist stopped at the scene and was not arrested.
 
The crash happened during the hours of darkness, the CHP said. There are no street lights at the location.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
