RIVERSIDE, CA (February 19, 2021) — Hector Cardenas died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Jurupa Avenue near Florence Street Monday night.
 
According to Riverside Police, the fatal accident happened around 7:45 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a Subaru Impreza driver struck Cardenas and left the scene shortly after.
 
Per reports, the driver struck the 31-year-old pedestrian in the westbound lanes.
 
In their investigation, authorities learned that the Ontario man was lying and standing in the roadway as cars navigated around him. Despite these details, Cardenas’ intentions remain uncertain.
