Head-On Collision Reported on Highway 299 in Willow Creek

 
WILLOW CREEK, CA (April 24, 2023) — Authorities reported a possible fatal head-on accident on Highway 299 near Highway 96.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly two-vehicle crash happened around 12:40 p.m. on April 20. The crash caused a full closure on the road in both directions just west of Willow Creek.
 
Under unclear circumstances, a white Ford service truck and SUV collided near mile marker 14.6.
 
CHP officers responded and confirmed the closure at 1:30 p.m.
 
Officials received updates every 15 minutes to learn that two people in the black vehicle died in the crash. However, CHP investigators will dive into this report to confirm the details.
