Driver Dies after Car Overturns on Highway 14 in Palmdale, Passenger Suffers Moderate Injuries

 
PALMDALE, CA (March 20, 2023)Harold Brown was killed in a rollover crash in Palmdale early Saturday morning on March 18.
 
The fatal crash happened around 2:19 a.m. on Highway 14, just south of Avenue O. According to the CHP, Brown was driving a 2005 BMW X5 southbound on the highway. For unknown reasons, the vehicle veered off the roadway, crashed into a metal guardrail and dirt embankment, and then overturned.
 
Brown suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 32-year-old Lancaster resident, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
 
A passenger in the BMW, 40-year-old Lonell Veloz of Boron, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment.
 
It is unclear if alcohol or drugs was a factor in the crash.
 
Authorities encouraged witnesses to contact investigating officer A. Diaz at the Antelope Valley area CHP Office at 661-948-8541.
