7-Year-Old Child Riding on Bicycle Dies after Struck by Vehicle on Montrose Avenue in Fremont

 
FREMONT, CA (May 23, 2022) – Harit Patel was killed in a bicycle accident on Montrose Avenue in Fremont on Friday afternoon, May 20.
 
The fatal accident happened around 3:45 p.m. According to the Fremont Police Department, the 7-year-old child was riding the bicycle when a vehicle struck them.
 
Officers and medical personnel provided first aid to the child, who was then taken to a trauma center.
 
Despite life-saving efforts at the hospital, Patel did not survive and was pronounced dead. He was a first grade student at James Leitch Elementary School in the Warm Springs area.
 
Meanwhile, the driver remained on scene and cooperated with police.
 
It is unknown at t his time if drugs or alcohol was involved. This fatal crash remains under investigation.
