George Rousell Detained in Hit-and-Run Crash on 5 Freeway near Highway 299

 
REDDING, CA (April 4, 2023) — George Rousell was arrested in a hit-and-run accident on the 5 Freeway near Highway 299.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol Redding office, the incident happened Thursday morning. Officers tried to pursue the driver of a Jeep Wrangler involved in a crash in the Anderson area. The driver, later identified as 33-year-old Rousell, took off from the scene. However, the Jeep did not get too far as it crashed into a semi-truck near Highway 299.
 
Rousell resisted police further and leaped out of the vehicle, running southwest toward the Highway 299 off-ramp. Not long after, Redding police officers found him in an apartment after he ran toward Boulder Creek Drive. Officers arrested him and booked him into Shasta County Jail for evading officers, resisting officers and hit-and-run.
