76-Year Woman Riding Bicycle with Her Husband Dies after Crash with Hit-and-Run Vehicle in Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (July 20, 2023)Gaylin Reese was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Long Beach Sunday afternoon on July 16.
 
The fatal crash happened around 12:25 p.m. on Second Street at Marina Drive. According to the Long Beach Police Department, Reese was riding a tandem bicycle with her husband in the bike lane on eastbound on Second Street when they allegedly sideswiped a vehicle.
 
Police said there was heavy traffic at the time and all the cars were stopped. The bicycle sideswiped the vehicle with enough force, knocking both Reese and her husband.
 
Paramedics transported both victims to a hospital, where Reese later succumbed to her injuries. She was 76 years old of Long Beach.
 
The unidentified husband was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the involved vehicle drove away.
