ADELANTO, CA (October 28, 2021) — A gas leak caused by a car accident on Chamberlaine Way near Thomas Court left several homes red-tagged for structural damage Sunday.
 
According to Sheriff’s officials, the single-car accident happened around 12:00 p.m.
 
For unknown reasons, a 17-year-old heading westbound on Chamberlaine Way attempted to pass other cars over the double yellow line. However, the teen’s vehicle sideswiped another car, causing the teen’s vehicle to lose control.
 
Subsequently, the car crashed through two fences and into the side of a home, causing a large gas leak.
 
At this time, police have no information if the 17-year-old suffered any injuries. However, several homeowners evacuated their premises due to the leak.
