CASTRO VALLEY, CA (November 16, 2021) – A Fremont patrol officer suffered injuries in a crash on Niles Canyon Road on November 13.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Palomares Road at approximately 6:41 PM.
 
Based on an initial report, the victim was with other patrol officers on Niles Canyon to assist Alameda County Sheriff’s Office with a prowler call. Due to unknown reasons, the victim’s car collided with another car traveling west of Palomares.
 
Paramedics transported the victim to a trauma center with apparent non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger from the other car involved drove themselves to a local emergency room with a complaint of pain.
 
At this point, the Newark Police Department is investigating the incident. In addition, no other details are available.
