KLM Flight Attendant Dies after Struck by Electric Scooter in San Francisco

 
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (July 21, 2023)Frans Alst was hit and killed by a scooter in San Francisco earlier this month on July 8.
 
The fatal crash happened just before 11:00 a.m. at Market Street and 5th Street. According to the San Francisco Police Department, Alst was walking in the area when an electric scooter struck him.
 
First responders rushed to the scene and took Alst to San Francisco hospital with life-threatening head injuries.
 
Despite life-saving efforts at the hospital, Alst died on July 14, six days after the crash. He was a 55-year-old man from Netherlands, according to the San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
Alst worked for KLM Airlines and was in San Francisco for work with colleagues when he was hit.
 
The scooter rider stayed on scene.
 
SFPD said an arrest has not been made. Further investigation is underway.
