48-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Palm Desert

 
PALM DESERT, CA (August 13, 2023) – Francisco Rojas was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Palm Desert Wednesday evening on August 9.
 
The fatal crash happened around 10:15 on Country Club Drive near Barington Drive, just east of Freedom Park. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Rojas was walking in the area when a vehicle struck him.
 
After striking him, the involved vehicle drove away without stopping.
 
Deputies responded and found Rojas lying on the eastbound lanes of Country Club Drive. They pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
Rojas was a 48-year-old Palm Desert resident, according to the Riverside County Coroner.
 
Authorities are still investigating this crash and searching for the hit-and-run suspect.
