Four Hurt after Rollover Accident on Point Reyes-Petaluma Road near Nicasio Valley Road

 
NICASIO, CA (February 28, 2022) — Four people sustained injuries in a two-vehicle rollover crash on Point Reyes-Petaluma Road.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the accident took place west of Nicasio Valley Road at around 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 26.
 
CHP said a Chevrolet Corvette moved west on Point Reyes-Petaluma Road behind several vehicles. The driver of the Corvette tried to pass three slower-moving cars at one time at a high rate of speed.
 
Simultaneously, a Toyota pick-up truck at the front of the pack tried to make a left turn into a dirt parking area. The driver of the Corvette failed to notice the truck turning left. The front of the Chevrolet crashed into the left side of the Toyota and caused the truck to overturn.
 
Medics rushed three occupants of the Toyota to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries. The driver of the Corvette had minor injuries and received treatment on the scene.
 
Authorities said the initial investigation showed that impairment does not appear as a factor in the crash.
 
Officials will cite the driver of the Corvette for the unsafe driving maneuver.
