Driver Killed, Passenger Hospitalized in Overturned Crash on Highway 101 in Windsor

 
WINDSOR, CA (July 10, 2023) — A driver died, and a passenger was hospitalized in a rollover accident on Highway 101 near Arata Lane.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly single-car accident happened Friday. For an unknown reason, a woman heading southbound on the highway lost control near the center median. The woman subsequently overcorrected to the right, but the vehicle overturned around 7:30 p.m.
 
Since neither she nor her passenger was wearing a seatbelt, both occupants were ejected from the car.
 
Multiple drivers stopped to help the victims before emergency medical personnel arrived. Upon arriving, paramedics confirmed the driver dead at the scene and took the passenger to Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment of major injuries.
 
Meanwhile, traffic investigators closed the southbound right lane to investigate the accident. If anyone has seen this crash, please call the CHP.
