Suspect Leaves and Crashes Into Vehicle, Pole at Watt Avenue in Sacramento County

 
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA (January 23, 2024) — A fleeing suspect died after crashing into a car and a light pole at Watt Avenue and Winona Way.
 
According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal crash happened Monday. For an unknown reason, an officer was attempting to pull over a parolee at large. Subsequently, the suspect fled from police, ran a red light in the process and struck a car and a light pole.
 
Due to the crash, the 35-year-old male suspect passed away at the scene. His female passenger also suffered serious injuries. Reports did not specify the reason for the attempted stop, but further details will be available following an investigation.
