51-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (October 9, 2023) – Felix Castro was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Long Beach Friday evening on October 6.
 
The fatal crash happened around 7:00 p.m. at Orange Avenue and Banner Drive. According the Long Beach Police Department, Castro was crossing Orange Avenue westbound, across southbound lanes, when a vehicle struck him. Police said he was not using a marked crosswalk at that time.
 
After the crash, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid.
 
Castro, a 51-year-old Long Beach resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
