Father, Son Dead, Others Hurt in Overturned Crash on Mohrhardt Ridge Road in Sonoma County

 
SONOMA COUNTY, CA (December 22, 2022) — A father and his son died, and several others were injured in two overturned accidents on Mohrhardt Ridge Road near Cazadero Monday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened around 5:42 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 32-year-old man driving a Jeep overturned down a steep embankment of about 300 feet or so. A second Jeep driver, driven by a 49-year-old man, attempted to help the occupants in the first crash. However, his Jeep also veered down the embankment and crashed.
 
A bystander contacted authorities and soon after emergency personnel arrived to extricate the 49-year-old man who had life-threatening injuries. With haste, paramedics brought him to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and his two juvenile male passengers to the same hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
 
Tragically, the 32-year-old man and his son in the first Jeep suffered fatal injuries. The Sonoma County coroner’s office has yet to identify the victims in this crash.
 
At this time, investigators do not have a leading cause for the crash. However, they do believe foggy conditions played a role. If anyone has more information on this accident, please call the authorities.
