72-Year-Old Dies in Pedestrian Crash on Franklin Boulevard in Sacramento

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (December 22, 2022) — A 72-year-old died in a pedestrian accident on Franklin Boulevard near Green Tree Drive.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 5:15 p.m. Saturday. For unknown reasons, a driver of a 2001 Toyota struck the 72-year-old Sacramento man who was walking north in the left lane of Franklin Boulevard.
 
Immediately after, the 71-year-old Elk Grove man stopped at the scene and called 911. However, upon responding, fire personnel pronounced the pedestrian dead around 5:30 p.m.
 
At this time, the Sacramento County coroner’s office has yet to release the victim’s name pending notification of next of kin.
 
The Toyota driver is cooperating with investigators, who have thus far ruled out drugs and alcohol as possible factors. If anyone has seen this accident, please call the authorities.
