One Killed in Head-On Crash on Albion Ridge Road

ALBION, CA (February 21, 2022) — One person died in a head-on accident on Albion Ridge Road on Saturday, February 19.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, two vehicles collided head-on near the 31000 block of Albion Ridge Road around 3:52 p.m.
 
During the investigation, officials determined that a 2010 Toyota Rav4 moved eastbound on Albion Ridge Road. At the same time, a 2020 Honda Accord with three passengers traveled westbound on Albion Ridge Road.
 
For an undetermined reason, the Toyota crossed over solid double yellow lines and crashed head-on to the Honda Accord.
 
As a result of the collision, the driver of the Toyota sustained minor injuries. The Honda driver had moderate injuries. Two passengers of the Honda had major injuries and the third passenger sustained fatal injuries. An air ambulance responded to the scene.
 
All involved parties wore a seatbelt at the time of the incident. Officials do not believe alcohol and/or drugs as a factor in the crash.
 
Officials closed Albion Ridge Road for approximately three hours.
 
The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
