Grandmother Dies after Hit by Car while Walking along Highland Avenue in Fullerton

 
FULLERTON, CA (October 24, 2022)Estela Rodriguez was hit and killed by a car in Fullerton Friday on October 14.
 
According to reports, the 61-year-old grandmother was out on her daily walk along Highland Avenue near Richman Park when a car came up from behind and hit her.
 
First responders rushed Rodriguez to UCI Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries the following day. She was a mother of four and a grandmother of 15.
 
Now her family is trying to honor her memory and raise awareness about possible dangers at the intersection.
 
They are planning to raise the issue with the Fullerton City Council.
 
Some of those proposed changes include a four-way stop sign and better lighting for people walking and driving on Highland especially at night.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
