Eric Galvanmolina Killed in Rollover Accident on Oakdale Road [Merced County, CA]

Rollover Crash at Oakdale and Turlock Roads in Merced County Kills Winton Man

 
MERCED COUNTY, CA (September 25, 2023) – Eric De Jesus Galvanmolina died a rollover accident in Merced County early Thursday morning on September 21.
 
The fatal accident happened around 12:07 a.m. at Oakdale Road at Turlock Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, Galvanmolina was driving a 1999 Honda Accord south on Oakdale Road at approximately 50-60 mph when he was broadsided by a 2013 Acura traveling westbound on Turlock Road.
 
The impact caused the Accord to overturn on its roof.
 
Galvanmolina was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 31 years old from Winton, according to the Merced County Sheriff Coroner’s Office.
 
It is unknown if the driver of the Acura, 46-year-old Maricela Perez Diaz of Ballico, stopped at a posted stop sign prior to the crash.
 
Both Diaz and her 30-year-old female passenger complained of pain, but refused medical attention.

CHP officials said neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
