26-Year-Old Emmanuel Elizalde Killed in Lemon Grove Pedestrian Accident

 
LEMON GROVE, CA (July 26, 2022) – Authorities identified 26-year-old Emmanuel Elizalde of San Diego as the pedestrian killed in an accident on Highway 94, early Sunday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on July 17. For reasons still under investigation, Elizalde parked his vehicle between the shoulder of the highway and the first lane to the left.
 
A car traveling in the first lane swerved to avoid the parked vehicle. However, the car hit Elizalde who was walking on the left shoulder near Highway 125.
 
As per reports, the victim suffered multiple blunt force injuries to the head and neck. Paramedics later pronounced Elizalde dead at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the car remained and cooperated with investigators.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
