Police Arrest Eloy Madrid for DUI after Hitting and Injuring Pedestrian in Visalia
VISALIA, CA (April 20, 2022) – Police arrested Eloy Madrid for DUI after hitting and injuring a pedestrian in Visalia on Friday evening.
The crash happened around 7:00 p.m. on April 15 at Mineral King Avenue and Mooney Boulevard. According to the Visalia Police Department, the 30-year-old suspect was driving a vehicle when he struck the pedestrian who was standing on the corner.
After hitting the pedestrian, Madrid continued on and ran into a tree.
Responding paramedics transported the pedestrian to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.
Police later arrested Madrid on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. They booked him into the Tulare County Pretrial Facility for a felony DUI charge.
An investigation into this crash is ongoing.
