INDIO, CA (April 20, 2022) – Five people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at Calhoun Street and Avenue 48 in Indio on Saturday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 3:07 p.m. on April 16 near the Coachella festival. According to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire, two vehicles collided in the area for unknown reasons.
 
Responding firefighters found a total of five patients, two with moderate injuries and three with minor injuries. Paramedics transported all of them to area hospitals for proper treatment.
 
Meanwhile, one person declined transport.
 
At this time, it is unclear if drugs or alcohol was a factor. Further investigation is underway.
