Car Crashes into Power Pole in Rancho Cucamonga Killing Brother and Sister

 
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA (March 10, 2024) – Elias Cruz and Sarah Cruz were killed in a car accident in Rancho Cucamonga Friday afternoon on March 8.
 
The fatal accident happened around 4:25 p.m. at Wilson Avenue and Haven Avenue. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department , a Ford Mustang was traveling westbound on Wilson Avenue when it lost control and crossed the intersection of Haven Avenue. It then crashed into a power pole and a tree.
 
Elias, a 17-year-old boy, was the driver of the Mustang. Sarah, 14, and another 17-year-old boy were his passengers. They were heading home from practice.
 
Both Elias and Sarah suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Both were student-athletes at Los Osos High School.
 
The third teen was rushed to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
A GoFundMe page was created to help the Cruz family with funeral expenses.
 
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Officers asked anyone with information to call Rancho Cucamonga Police at 909-477-2800.
