Authorities Identify Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Watt Avenue in Antelope

 
ANTELOPE, CA (March 24, 2021) – Authorities identified the man who died in a pedestrian accident Friday evening in Antelope.
 
The accident happened around 8:25 p.m., March 19 on Watt Avenue near Black Eagle Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol, 33-year-old Earl Baker of Antelope was running across the road when a GMC truck hit him.
 
The driver of the GMC saw Baker run across and tried to avoid him, but the truck’s front left side struck the victim.
 
As a result, Baker suffered major injuries and died at the hospital. Ramsey Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel in Sacramento publicly announced his passing, according to Baker’s obituary.
 
The involved driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities. He was not under the influence.
 
CHP officials are still investigating the accident.
