Driver in Pursuit Killed After Crashing into Parked Vehicle near Filbert Street in Stockton

 
STOCKTON, CA (October 10, 2022) — A driver in pursuit died after crashing into a parked car near Filbert Street and Myrtle Street on Saturday.
 
According to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal accident occurred around 2:30 a.m. For unknown reasons, deputies tried to pull over a person near Filbert Street and Myrtle Street.
 
However, the driver drove off at a high rate of speed, and within 60 seconds, crashed into an unoccupied parked car.
 
Soon after, officers tried to save the unidentified driver, who died later at the scene. Authorities have withheld the victim’s name due to the pending notification of family members.
