Driver and Passenger Critically Injured in Rollover Accident on 15 Freeway near Nipton Road [Mountain Pass, CA]

Rollover Crash on 15 Freeway in Mountain Pass Area Leaves Two People in Critical Condition

 
MOUNTAIN PASS, CA (December 15, 2022) – A driver and a passenger were critically injured after a rollover accident on 15 Freeway in the Mountain Pass area Sunday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 3:10 p.m. on December 11, about two miles before Nipton Road. According to the CHP, a white Jeep Wrangler and a sedan collided for unknown reasons.
 
The road may have been wet at the time of the crash. The driver and the passenger of the Jeep were both ejected and landed in traffic lanes.
 
San Bernardino County Fire Department crews responded and requested two medical helicopters to transport the driver and passenger.
 
Due to weather conditions there was only one airship. Mercy Air helicopter took one patient to Las Vegas University Medical Center in critical condition. The other person was rushed over by ground ambulance in serious condition to a local trauma center.
 
The crash is still under investigation.
